Knurled Smooth Operator Fronts

After I cut my fingers trying to unscrew a standard pen, I had sworn off Tactile Turn pens. Recently, I saw a reference to the Smooth Operator Slim and decided to look at it. I eventually decided to try one, and I picked up a standard and a small knurled nose cone. I was impressed. It fits my grip. The knurled cone has excellent grip. Now I'm looking to see if they have any more of these pens. The best part of the pairing is the knurled front section. That totally makes the pen much easier to use. I've been carrying it for the past two weeks and enjoying it very much. I'm looking forward to the side-click and the switch models if they show up. I'm all set with the front piece now.

Unfortunately, I did not know the rubber O-ring is not included with the Smooth Operator knurled front, so switching between fronts will require removing and installing the original O-ring each time. Also, be extremely delicate when removing the O-ring, because when I did I accidentally made I couple cuts on it using my fingernail and rolling it off the threads. It may be that down the road after half a dozen or so swaps the ring might altogether break (my intention in buying the front was to switch between the mini and standard depending on my use case each day, but not everyone will be doing this). A replacement is only $0.50, but shipping brings it to ~$10, so I would recommend adding it to another purchase. The normal finish replacement fronts do come with the O-ring, so it surprised me to find this one did not include it. It would save future buyers much trouble by including an O-ring on the knurled front. Nevertheless, the knurled front is exactly as I expected (a very fine texture) and I am pleased with the purchase.

For those considering the size of the pen, just hold a standard BiC ballpoint pen and you'll have a close comparison, added that the Smooth Operator is just slightly wider in diameter and heavier, of course.
